Poultry Production Operative – North Kilworth, Near Lutterworth 

People Solutions are currently recruiting for Poultry Production Operatives to join our well-established client based in North Kilworth, near Lutterworth. 

This is an excellent opportunity to join a specialist poultry production operation on a full-time, ongoing basis. 

No previous food production experience is required as full training will be provided. This position would suit applicants looking for a role as a Food Operative or Production Operative.

There may also be an opportunity to secure a permanent full-time position after successfully completing the initial 12 weeks, subject to performance, attendance, and business requirements. 

The site operates as a poultry production environment, with poultry processing taking place as part of the operation. Workers recruited for this position will not be directly  involved in slaughtering or killing animals. However, you should feel comfortable handling prepared poultry and working with raw poultry products, including cutting and preparation. 

Please also note that the site is in a rural location and cannot be reached reliably by public transport. You must have your own car or another reliable form of private transport and be able to arrive for a 7:00am start. 

Rates of Pay: 

• £13.21 per hour 

Shift Pattern: 

• Monday to Friday / Weekends required during peak times 

• Usually 7:00am to 5:00pm 

• Start and finish times may occasionally vary depending on production requirements 

• Flexibility regarding working hours is required 

Important Transport Requirement: 

• The site is located in a rural area and cannot be reached reliably by public transport 

• Applicants must have access to their own car or another reliable private vehicle 

• Applicants must be able to travel to and from the workplace independently for a 7:00am start 

• A valid driving licence is required where applicable 

• Please do not apply if you are dependent on public transport to reach the workplace

Day-to-Day Duties: 

As a Poultry Production Operative, you will work within the production area and support the preparation, packing, and hygiene requirements of the operation. 

• Cutting and portioning prepared poultry 

• Trimming and preparing different poultry cuts 

• Weighing, packing, and labelling products 

• Preparing customer orders 

• Cleaning and sanitising equipment and work areas 

• Following food hygiene and health and safety procedures 

Important Information: 

• Workers recruited for this position will not be directly involved in slaughtering or killing animals 

• Applicants must be comfortable handling prepared poultry, cutting poultry portions, and working with raw meat during the food production element of the role 

Essential Skills: 

To be successful as a Poultry Production Operative, you will need: 

• Access to a reliable vehicle and the ability to travel independently to the workplace 

• Good English communication skills 

• Be physically fit and capable of carrying out practical production work 

• Be reliable, punctual, and hardworking 

• Be comfortable working as part of a small team 

• Be able to follow instructions and maintain high standards 

• Be willing to complete cleaning and hygiene duties 

• Be flexible regarding working hours when required 

Desirable Experience: 

• Previous experience in food production 

• Previous experience in butchery 

• Previous experience in warehousing 

• Other practical working experience would be beneficial but is not essential 

Training: 

• Safe poultry cutting and preparation techniques 

• Food hygiene requirements 

• Safe equipment use 

• Health and safety procedures
