Harrow, UK Supply Desk SEN Teaching Assistant – Harrow Location: Harrow Start Date: ASAP Contract: Full-time Pay: £85–£115 per day, dependent on experience Supply Desk are currently seeking a caring, patient, and enthusiastic SEN Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming and inclusive school in the Harrow area. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who is passionate about supporting children and young people with Special Educational Needs (SEN) and helping them overcome barriers to learning. You will work closely with class teachers, SENCOs, and other support staff to provide tailored support, helping pupils build confidence, develop independence, and achieve their full potential. The successful candidate will have a nurturing and positive approach and be committed to creating a safe, supportive, and inclusive environment where every pupil feels valued and encouraged to succeed. Key Responsibilities Provide dedicated support to pupils with a range of Special Educational Needs, including ASD, ADHD, speech and language needs, and social, emotional and mental health needs Deliver 1:1 and small-group support based on individual pupil requirements Assist pupils in accessing the curriculum and participating fully in classroom activities Encourage positive behaviour, emotional regulation, communication, and social development Support pupils in developing confidence, independence, and essential life skills Monitor and communicate pupil progress, behaviour, and wellbeing Work collaboratively with teachers, SENCOs, parents/carers, and external professionals Implement appropriate strategies and adapt support to meet individual learning needs Help create a positive, inclusive, and stimulating learning environment Promote safeguarding and the wellbeing of all pupils at all times Previous experience working with children or young people with SEN is desirable Understanding of different SEN needs and appropriate support strategies Strong communication and relationship-building skills A patient, calm, and positive approach Good behaviour management skills A genuine passion for supporting children's learning and development Knowledge and understanding of safeguarding procedures Previous experience within a primary or secondary school environment is desirable Comprehensive safeguarding training Weekly payments Ongoing support from experienced, local education consultants A supportive team and working environment Access to well-equipped school facilities Opportunities for continued professional development, CPD, and training Dedicated consultant support throughout your placement Refer a Friend scheme Role Requirements What We Offer This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced SEN Teaching Assistant or someone looking to develop their career in education.
