Birmingham, West Midlands HR GO Recruitment Field Service Engineer - Industrial Machinery Permanent - Fully remote position Candidate Location requirement: Ideally based in the Midlands or nearby Salary: Basic £45,000 plus overtime, travel expenses, car Excellent Earning potential Territory: UK and Ireland with Overseas trips Long-established and highly respected international leader in the design and manufacture of specialised automation machinery and solutions for the glass processing industry is looking to recruit an UK based Field Service Engineer to work across the UK with occasional oversea trips. This is a full-time remote role and the Field Service Engineer will be responsible for the installation, commissioning, maintenance, and repair of advanced machinery primarily used within the Glass and Processing markets. This hands-on role offers a dynamic work environment, combining mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems and will require travel to customer sites both locally and internationally. Duties: Install, commission, conduct maintenance, troubleshoot and repair equipment at customer sites throughout the UK, Ireland and worldwide. Provide high-quality technical assistance to customers to ensure optimal equipment performance. Document customer machine information and technical conditions and make improvement suggestions. Interpret and work from electrical wiring, pneumatic, and hydraulic diagrams. Work within a cross functional team that includes applications, sales, engineering, or production for excellent customer service. Train customers to operate and/or repair machines to ensure maximum productivity. Act as an ambassador and work directly with customers during installations and repairs to enable their business success. Maintain company provided equipment, vehicle, and tools in good working order. Experience / Qualifications: Proven experience with multi-skilled engineering (electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems) Strong fault-finding and problem-solving abilities Familiarity with PLC and servo-controlled systems Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with a customer-focused approach Ability to read and interpret complex technical diagrams A proactive "can-do" attitude with a willingness to work independently or as part of a team Flexibility to travel regularly, including staying away from home and overseas trips HNC/HND or equivalent in an engineering discipline (electrical, mechanical, or mechatronics preferred) Full UK clean driving licence and valid Passport is essential HRGO Recruitment offers permanent and temporary jobs across the UK.
