This unique full-time opportunity offers the best of both worlds, with three days per week dedicated to SENCO responsibilities and the remaining two days spent teaching across Key Stage 2. About the Role

As SENCO, you will lead the school’s SEND provision, ensuring pupils with additional needs receive the support, interventions, and opportunities they need to thrive. You will work closely with teachers, support staff, parents, and external agencies to coordinate and monitor effective provision across the academy.

In addition, you will spend two days each week teaching across Key Stage 2, delivering engaging lessons and maintaining high standards of learning and achievement. Therefore, the successful candidate will be equally confident in both classroom teaching and strategic leadership.

Key Responsibilities

SENCO Responsibilities

• Lead and manage SEND provision across the academy.
• Develop and implement effective support plans for pupils with additional needs.
• Monitor and evaluate the progress of pupils with SEND.
• Coordinate interventions and ensure appropriate support is in place.
• Work closely with parents, carers, and external professionals.
• Provide advice, guidance, and training to staff to promote inclusive practice.
• Ensure statutory SEND requirements are met.
• Champion inclusion and high expectations for all learners.

Teaching Responsibilities

• Deliver engaging and effective lessons across Key Stage 2.
• Create a stimulating learning environment where children can succeed.
• Adapt teaching to meet the needs of all learners.
• Assess progress and use outcomes to inform future teaching.
• Promote positive behaviour and high standards of achievement.
• Support pupils’ academic, social, and emotional development.

• Hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
• Have experience teaching within a primary school setting.
• Be passionate about supporting pupils with SEND.
• Demonstrate strong organisational and leadership skills.
