Your Opportunity

Meridian High School is seeking a dedicated, confident and adaptable Cover Supervisor to play a key role in ensuring students continue to receive high-quality learning experiences when teachers are absent.

This is a rewarding and varied position where you'll lead lessons using pre-prepared materials, maintain a positive and purposeful learning environment, and support students to remain engaged and on track with their learning. Working closely with teaching staff and the wider inclusion team, you'll help foster a culture of high expectations, encourage student achievement, and make a real difference to the school community.

Whether you're an experienced Teaching Assistant looking for the next step, an aspiring teacher seeking valuable classroom experience, or an education professional who enjoys working with young people, this role offers an excellent opportunity to develop your skills and impact students' success.

We are looking for someone who has:

• Experience working as a Teaching Assistant or in a similar educational setting
• Good literacy and numeracy skills, evidenced by GCSE Grade C/4 or above (or equivalent) in English and Maths
• Achieved, or is working towards, an HLTA qualification
• The confidence to apply training and knowledge effectively within a classroom environment
• Strong communication skills and the ability to build positive relationships with students
• A calm, proactive and flexible approach, with the ability to engage and motivate learners of all abilities

The Details

Start Date: ASAP

Salary: GLF Associate 3 - £25,877 + outer London weighting allowance 

Actual Salary: £23,189.40 + outer London weighting allowance 

Hours: 37.5hrs per week, Mon-Fri (term time only)
