25 hours per week, term time only (Monday to Thursday (30 mins unpaid lunch break) plus 1 extra hour on one day (after school), which can be negotiated

Grade 4, Scale Points 7-11

Actual Salary £15,300 to £16,308 (£26,403 to £28,142 FTE) (Pay award pending)

We require a caring, enthusiastic and highly motivated Higher Level Teaching Assistant to work across the academy, predominantly within EYFS and Key Stage 1. Working under the direction and guidance of teaching and senior staff, the successful candidate will support high-quality teaching and learning for individuals, groups and whole classes. A key aspect of the role will be providing planned class cover for teachers during PPA, leadership and other release time, taking responsibility for the effective delivery of learning and management of the class. The role will also involve supporting pupils with additional needs, delivering targeted interventions and contributing to the wider life of the academy, including enrichment opportunities and, when required, leading an after-school club for up to one half-term during the academic year.

You will have:

Hold HLTA status or demonstrate equivalent experience, skills and competence appropriate to the role.

Have relevant experience of working successfully with primary-aged children.

Have a good standard of literacy and numeracy.

Have the knowledge and confidence to lead learning for whole classes.

Demonstrate a secure understanding of effective teaching and learning.

Be able to establish positive relationships and manage pupil behaviour effectively.

Be able to adapt learning to meet a range of needs, including those of pupils with SEND.

Demonstrate excellent communication and teamwork skills.

Be organised, reliable, flexible and able to use initiative.

Demonstrate a strong commitment to safeguarding and promoting children's welfare.

Have high expectations of themselves and others and a commitment to improving outcomes for all pupils.

Be willing to undertake relevant professional development.
