Catering Technician

Randstad has an opportunity available for a Catering Technician to join the team of our client in Ballymena.

In this position, you will play a key role in supporting daily food service operations and assisting in practical training environments, ensuring high standards of service, safety and cleanliness across the site.

Requirements

• Previous experience within a catering, food preparation or kitchen environment

• Sound knowledge of Health and Safety and food hygiene regulations

• Good communication skills and a supportive, team-oriented approach

• Practical experience with cash handling and operating point of sale systems

• Ability to carry out physical tasks, including cleaning, stock movement and event setup

• Candidates will be subject to enhanced vetting / compliance checks including an Enhanced Access NI check due to the nature of this work, this may include a Barred List check for both Children & Vulnerable Adults (depending on the role).

Responsibilities

• Assist with the daily setup, preparation and opening of service areas, training kitchens and dining spaces

• Support staff and learners in the safe use of kitchen equipment, supplies and stock

• Prepare food and beverages while maintaining strict hygiene and safety standards

• Operate points of sale, serve customers and assist with daily financial and cash handling procedures

• Maintain high standards of cleanliness by completing daily tidying, scheduled deep cleans and waste disposal

• Help monitor stock levels, manage storage areas and set up facilities for special events
