Senior Data Programme Manager

Senior Data Programme Manager £850-£900 per day - Inside IR35 - Hybrid working from site near Derby - 6 Months initial contract.

We are working on behalf of an exciting Small Modular Reactor organisation that is going from strength to strength and is building out its Digital, Data & AI capability.

We are looking for a highly experienced Senior Data Programme Manager to take a leading role in coordinating and delivering a portfolio of strategic data initiatives. This is a senior-level position requiring someone who can operate comfortably at programme, portfolio and senior stakeholder level, whilst also having a strong understanding of modern data environments, data architecture, analytics and digital transformation.

The successful candidate will provide overall orchestration across a number of interconnected data projects, ensuring that delivery is coordinated, dependencies are understood and the wider data strategy is translated into tangible outcomes.

In addition to portfolio-level responsibilities, the role will take direct programme/project management responsibility for the delivery of the Digital Twin Phase 1 project.

Key responsibilities -

• Lead and coordinate an integrated portfolio of data and digital projects, providing overall programme orchestration and delivery coordination.
• Establish and maintain a clear view of programme scope, milestones, dependencies, risks, issues and resources across the data portfolio.
• Take direct responsibility for the successful delivery of Digital Twin Phase 1.
• Work closely with Data, Digital, AI, Technology and business stakeholders to ensure projects are aligned and delivering against strategic objectives.
• Provide senior-level reporting, governance and assurance across the programme portfolio.
• Manage complex dependencies between data platforms, data products, architecture, analytics and wider digital initiatives.
• Ensure appropriate programme controls, governance and delivery processes are established and maintained.
• Coordinate project and delivery teams, ensuring priorities are understood and delivery remains focused on agreed outcomes.
• Work with senior stakeholders to resolve issues, manage competing priorities and maintain delivery momentum.
• Support the evolution of the organisations wider Data & AI delivery roadmap.
• Identify opportunities to improve programme delivery, data maturity and the effective use of data across the organisation.
• Translate complex technical and data concepts into clear information for senior business and programme stakeholders.

About you -

We are looking for a very senior Programme Manager who combines strong programme delivery capability with genuine data expertise.

You will ideally have:

• Significant experience leading complex data, digital or technology programmes, ideally across multiple interconnected projects.
• A strong understanding of modern data environments, data architecture, data platforms, data integration, analytics and data governance.
• Experience managing programmes involving significant data transformation, migration, integration or the development of enterprise data capabilities.
• Experience working with Digital Twin, engineering data, operational data or similar complex data environments would be highly beneficial.
• A proven track record of managing large-scale programmes with multiple workstreams, dependencies and stakeholders.
• Strong programme governance, planning, risk, financial and resource management experience.
• Excellent senior stakeholder management skills, with the ability to operate confidently with technical and business leadership.
• The ability to understand technical detail without becoming overly focused on it, maintaining sight of the wider programme outcomes.
• Experience working within complex or highly regulated environments would be advantageous.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to bring structure and clarity to complex programmes.
• A proactive, delivery-focused approach and the confidence to challenge, influence and drive decisions at senior level.
