Senior Quantity Surveyor

A leading construction business is looking to appoint an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor to join its commercial team in Leeds.

This is an opportunity to take responsibility for the commercial management of multiple construction projects, working closely with operational teams, clients and the supply chain from pre-construction through to completion.

The Role

You will be responsible for the commercial delivery of multiple projects, including:

Managing project costs, budgets and financial forecasts
Supporting project and site teams with commercial guidance
Procurement and management of subcontractors from tender through to completion
Managing valuations, payments and subcontract accounts
Preparing and submitting valuations and monitoring financial performance
Managing variations, change and contractual requirements
Tendering and negotiating packages and contracts
Preparing commercial reports and presenting financial information to senior stakeholders and clients
Supporting the preparation and management of contract documentation
Monitoring project performance and identifying potential cost risks
Supporting and developing junior members of the commercial team

About You

The successful candidate will have:

A minimum of 5 years experience as a Quantity Surveyor
Strong experience within the construction industry
Experience managing the commercial side of multiple projects
Good knowledge of subcontract and main contract management
Experience working with JCT, NEC or equivalent contracts
Strong procurement, valuation, forecasting and cost-control experience
Good negotiation and analytical skills
Strong communication skills with the ability to work with clients, contractors and internal teams
HND, degree or equivalent qualification in Quantity Surveying or a related discipline
Valid UK driving licence
Valid CSCS card
