Salary:: Grade E £28,608 - £30,515 a yearLocation: Stores Road DepotHours: 37 hours a week – working seasonal hoursContract Type: Permanent We are currently seeking to recruit a number of Chargehand Gardeners within our Grounds Maintenance section of Streetpride based from Stores Rd depot. The role provides a grounds maintenance service on all Derby City Council land, properties and contracts as determined by the service. The purpose of the role is to supervise ground staff and undertake general and skilled horticultural / sports grounds / constructional work as defined by management.As a minimum, applicants must possess;1- Full manual car driving licence, the applicant will be expected to drive vehicles up to 3.5 tonne vehicles2- Extensive professional grounds maintenance experience3- Experience of using a wide range of professional grounds equipment including pedestrian & Ride on mower, advanced plant & equipment 4- Experience in team leadership including the management and resolution of daily issues5- NVQ level 2 in horticulture or equivalent6- Knowledge of Health & Safety & Equality Act 2010 We require our Chargehand gardeners to be reliable, have pride in their work, and be committed to working with colleagues to ensure a good standard of work. They must understand the need for exceptional customer satisfaction and be prepared to undertake training and work in accordance with Health and Safety regulations.The work may involve early morning starts at locations throughout the City of Derby.
