Grayscale Medical is recruiting a Core Trainee (CT1) in General Medicine for a locum position at Downpatrick, within the South Eastern Health and Social Care Trust in Northern Ireland. This is a day shift role starting 1 October 2026, offered at an assignment rate of £50 per hour.

The successful candidate will work as part of the General Medicine team at Downpatrick, providing acute medical care across a range of presentations. Duties will include clerking and managing acute medical admissions, contributing to ward rounds, requesting and interpreting investigations, and liaising with senior colleagues and multidisciplinary teams. The role suits a doctor at CT1 level or above with solid general medicine experience who is comfortable working in a busy acute hospital environment.

Candidates must hold full GMC registration with a licence to practise and have a valid right to work in the UK. Up-to-date DBS/AccessNI clearance, professional indemnity insurance, and a minimum of two professional references are required. Experience in acute medicine, patient assessment, and clinical decision-making at the appropriate level is essential.
