OR116572 – Assistant Solicitor Procurement

Work pattern: The role could be done hybrid or working remotely PAYE Pay Rate: £24.14 per hour

Main Purpose of the Role
To provide legal advice and support to the Council across procurement, contracts and general local government matters, acting on behalf of the Council and representing it where required. The role will also involve drafting legal and procurement documentation and providing practical solutions to legal issues.

Typical Day Overview

• Provide legal advice on procurement and contractual matters.
• Advise on local government law, governance and decision-making.
• Draft and review contracts, procurement documents, statutory orders and other legal documentation.
• Act on the Council’s instructions as a Solicitor.
• Represent the Council at court, tribunals, hearings, mediations and inquiries where required.
• Identify legal risks and provide practical solutions.
• Work closely with clients, colleagues and internal Council departments.
• Take responsibility for maintaining high standards of legal work.
