Empower schools. Support families. Make a difference.

Are you passionate about improving outcomes for neurodivergent children and young people? Do you have experience working with schools, families and professionals to promote inclusive, strengths-based approaches?

We are seeking a Neurodiversity Support Adviser/Worker to join our developing Neurodiversity Support Team within Education Services. This is an exciting opportunity to help shape support for neurodivergent children and young people, including those with emerging neurodivergent profiles, ensuring they can thrive both at home and in education settings regardless of diagnosis status.

Working closely with schools, families and partner agencies, you will provide advice, training and practical support that enables educational settings to meet the needs of neurodivergent learners through child-centred, evidence-informed and neuro-affirming approaches.

About the role

As a key member of the Neurodiversity Support Team, you will:

  • Support schools and educational settings to develop inclusive practice for neurodivergent learners, including those with emerging neurodivergent profiles.
  • Deliver advice, guidance and practical strategies that empower school staff to meet pupils' needs effectively.
  • Work directly with children and young people through child-centred one-to-one and small-group approaches.
  • Promote positive relationships between families and educational settings, ensuring the voice of the child remains central to planning and intervention.
  • Attend and contribute to school and multi-agency planning meetings, supporting coordinated approaches across education, health and social care.
  • Provide information, advice and signposting for parents and carers to help them access appropriate services and resources.
  • Contribute to developing and delivering training programmes tailored to the needs of schools and educational settings.
  • Help identify and reduce barriers to learning, attendance, participation and wellbeing for neurodivergent children and young people including those with emerging neurodivergent profiles.

What you will bring

We are looking for someone who has:

  • Experience of working with families, professionals, children and young people within education, SEND, inclusion or related children's services.
  • Knowledge of the SEND Code of Practice, National Curriculum and safeguarding responsibilities.
  • Experience of working collaboratively with schools, families and multi-agency partners.
  • Strong understanding of neurodivergence and inclusive approaches that support positive outcomes for children and young people.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to build positive, trusting relationships with children, families, schools and professional partners.
  • Experience of delivering training, modelling strategies and supporting inclusive practice within educational settings.
  • The ability to work independently, prioritise workload and maintain accurate records.
  • Strong ICT skills, including experience using Microsoft Office applications and Teams.

What we offer

  • The opportunity to be part of an innovative and developing Neurodiversity Support Team.
  • Meaningful work that improves outcomes for neurodivergent children, young people and their families.
  • Ongoing professional development and learning opportunities.
  • A supportive, collaborative and inclusive working environment.
  • Flexible and hybrid working arrangements.

Additional requirements

  • Enhanced DBS check for children, young people and adults.
  • Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle for work purposes.
