PPA Teacher

Zest Education is currently recruiting for an enthusiastic and adaptable Primary Teacher to join a welcoming primary school in Tamworth. This is a full-time PPA cover role starting after October half term and continuing until the end of the academic year.

This exciting opportunity will see you teaching across the primary age range, from EYFS through to Key Stage 2, making it ideal for a teacher who enjoys variety and can quickly build positive relationships with pupils across different year groups.

About the Role

As the school’s PPA Teacher, you will provide high-quality cover across a range of classes, ensuring learning continues seamlessly while class teachers undertake their Planning, Preparation and Assessment (PPA) time.

No two days will be the same. One day you could be supporting children in Early Years through creative and play-based learning, while the next you may be delivering lessons in Upper Key Stage 2. Therefore, the school is looking for a flexible and confident teacher who can adapt their teaching style to meet the needs of different age groups.

Furthermore, you will become an important member of the teaching team, helping to maintain high standards of teaching, learning, and behaviour throughout the school.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver engaging lessons across EYFS, KS1, and KS2.
• Ensure continuity of learning during teachers’ PPA time.
• Create positive and inclusive learning environments.
• Adapt teaching approaches to meet the needs of different age groups.
• Maintain high expectations for behaviour and achievement.
• Build positive relationships with pupils and staff across the school.
• Follow school policies and procedures.
• Mark work and provide feedback where required.

The Ideal Candidate

The successful applicant will:

• Hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
• Have experience teaching within a primary school setting.
• Be confident teaching across multiple year groups.
• Demonstrate excellent classroom and behaviour management skills.
• Be flexible, organised, and adaptable.
• Build strong relationships quickly with pupils and colleagues.
• Have a passion for delivering engaging and inclusive lessons.
• Be committed to achieving the best outcomes for all children.

Salary is dependent on experience, training, or qualifications. The minimum experience, training, or qualifications required for this position are recent school-based experience (within the last 5 years within a school that teaches the British Curriculum) and/or care-based experience within the last 5 years.
