Education Outreach Lead

Kings Priory School and its TechFirst team are looking to appoint two driven, enthusiastic and highly motivated Education Outreach Leads to support the delivery of the TechFirst programme across the North East and Yorkshire.

This is a varied, outward-facing role working directly with schools, young people, teachers, employers and partners. The successful candidate will help schools access the opportunities available through TechFirst, deliver engaging activities for young people aged 11-18 and support our ambition to widen access to technology education and careers.

One day you might be delivering an interactive technology workshop to a group of students; another could see you meeting a school careers team, supporting a regional careers event, working with an employer or helping a school access a new TechFirst competition or opportunity.

At the heart of the role is a simple purpose: helping more young people see, understand and access the opportunities available to them through technology.

We are looking for someone who is confident building professional relationships and equally comfortable engaging a room full of young people. You will develop and maintain relationships with schools across the region, working with school leaders and careers teams to understand their existing provision and identify where TechFirst can add value.

You will deliver workshops, demonstrations and government initiatives in schools and at events, connect schools with TechFirst resources and opportunities, and support careers fairs, competitions and showcase activities across the region.

Alongside direct delivery, you will maintain accurate records of school engagement, use school-level information to help prioritise activity and contribute to reporting on the reach and impact of the programme.

You do not need to be a teacher or a technology specialist. You might currently work in education, outreach, careers, STEM engagement, training, project delivery or another role involving young people and external partners. What matters is your ability to communicate confidently, build trusted relationships, organise your work effectively and share our enthusiasm for widening access to technology careers.

Knowledge or experience of technology, cybersecurity, STEM education, careers education or the Gatsby Benchmarks would be an advantage, but we are equally interested in candidates who have the enthusiasm and ability to learn.

You will join a small, busy and ambitious team and work closely with colleagues delivering TechFirst in other regions. Although you will manage much of your day-to-day activity independently, you will be part of a collaborative team that shares resources, ideas and good practice.

We are currently recruiting for 2 roles, the first to cover the North East and another to cover Yorkshire. The role involves regular travel across the relevant region and occasional overnight stays, evening or weekend working associated with major events. You will work either at home or onsite with partners and have occasional travel to Kings Priory School in Tynemouth, A full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle are therefore required.
