Trials Technician

Our client BAE Systems, a leading organisation in the defence and security sector, is seeking a Trials Technician to support testing and evaluation activities at a unique site in Ridsdale, Northumberland. This is a 14-month contract opportunity, working full time onsite for 37 hours per week within a specialist land systems environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Supporting the preparation, planning and delivery of trials for defence and land-based systems
• Operating, inspecting and maintaining technical equipment used during trials
• Assisting with the installation, configuration and testing of equipment and systems
• Recording results, observations and technical information accurately
• Identifying faults, reporting issues and supporting troubleshooting activities
• Following approved procedures, risk assessments and health and safety requirements
• Working closely with engineers, technical specialists and wider project teams
• Contributing to technical reports and documentation following completed trials

Job Requirements:

• Experience working as a technician within an engineering, testing or technical environment
• Practical understanding of equipment operation, inspection and maintenance
• Ability to follow detailed technical instructions and trial procedures
• Strong attention to detail when collecting and recording technical data
• Good fault-finding and problem-solving abilities
• Clear communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team
• Commitment to working full time onsite in Ridsdale, Northumberland
• Eligibility to obtain or maintain BPSS clearance, with SC clearance in progress
