About the Role

Our client is looking to appoint an experienced Associate Transport Planner to play a key role in the continued growth of their Transport Planning team. This is an opportunity for an ambitious professional to take ownership of projects, lead a team, develop client relationships, and contribute to the strategic direction of the business.

The successful candidate will have a strong background in transport planning, particularly within the commercial development sector, with residential sector experience being advantageous.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and manage a range of transport planning projects from inception through to completion.
• Prepare and oversee Transport Assessments, Transport Statements, Travel Plans and supporting technical documents.
• Act as the main point of contact for clients, local authorities and key stakeholders.
• Lead and contribute to public consultation exercises and stakeholder engagement activities.
• Manage and mentor junior members of the team, supporting their professional development.
• Undertake project management responsibilities, including programme and financial management.
• Support and drive business development activities, helping to secure new work and strengthen existing client relationships.
• Provide technical guidance and quality assurance across project deliverables.

Requirements

• Significant experience within a Transport Planning consultancy environment.
• Strong experience working on commercial development projects.
• Residential development experience would be highly desirable.
• Experience leading project teams and managing staff.
• Proven ability to mentor and develop junior team members.
• Strong client-facing skills and stakeholder management experience.
• Experience supporting or leading business development and work-winning activities.
• Experience managing or contributing to public consultation events and engagement processes.
• Excellent report writing, communication and presentation skills.

Desirable

• Chartered status or working towards chartership.
• Established network of industry contacts within the transport planning sector.
• Experience representing clients at planning committees, public consultations or stakeholder meetings.
