Matchtech is working in partnership with a leading engineering and defence organisation to recruit experienced Pipe Welders for a major project in Glasgow.
This 12-month contract offers excellent rates of pay, long-term work opportunities, and the chance to contribute to high-profile engineering programmes within a highly skilled manufacturing environment.
As a Pipe Welder, you will play a key role in the fabrication and welding of critical pipework systems, ensuring all work is completed to the highest quality and safety standards.

What will I be doing?

As a skilled Pipe Welder, you will be responsible for welding and assembling pipe systems in accordance with engineering drawings, specifications, and recognised industry standards.

Essential Requirements

To be successful in this role, you must have:

• Experience with TIG (GTAW), MAG (GMAW), Flux Core (FCAW), and MMA (SMAW) welding processes.
• Proven experience carrying out all positional welding HL045 (6G).
• Experience working in confined spaces.
• A recognised engineering or welding apprenticeship.
• Experience welding pipework systems within heavy engineering, marine, defence, oil & gas, or industrial environments.
• Ability to interpret engineering drawings, isometric drawings, and welding procedures.
• A strong commitment to health, safety, and quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Carrying out pipe welding activities in line with approved welding procedures and specifications.
• Welding a range of pipe materials and thicknesses using TIG, MAG, FCAW, and MMA processes.
• Producing high-quality welds to the required standards and tolerances.
• Reading and interpreting engineering drawings, weld maps, and isometric drawings.
• Working safely in accordance with site health and safety requirements.
• Maintaining quality standards and ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations and procedures.
• Working effectively as part of a multi-disciplined engineering team.
