Cover Supervisor

At Ferndown Middle School, we are looking for a Cover Supervisor who can provide that consistency. Someone who can step confidently into the classroom, build positive relationships with young people and create a calm, purposeful atmosphere where every pupil can thrive.

What you’ll be doing:

• Deliver pre-planned lessons during the short-term absence of teachers, ensuring students remain engaged and on task.

• Create a calm, positive and productive learning environment where pupils can learn successfully and achieve their potential.

• Manage classroom behaviour confidently and consistently, following school policies and encouraging pupils to make positive choices.

• Support pupils' learning, progress and personal development through effective supervision, guidance and encouragement.

• Work closely with teachers and colleagues, providing feedback on pupil participation, achievement and behaviour.

• Build positive relationships with pupils, parents and staff, contributing to a supportive and inclusive school community.

• Promote safeguarding, wellbeing and inclusion, ensuring that every child feels safe, valued and supported.
