We are supporting a number of schools and school federations across Yorkshire who require additional Special Educational Needs Teaching Assistants on an ad-hoc basis.

This is a flexible opportunity for experienced teaching assistants who can support schools on different days and, where possible, respond to short-notice requirements.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide one-to-one or small-group support to pupils with additional needs

• Support pupils to access learning and classroom activities

• Promote positive behaviour, confidence and independence

• Work alongside teachers and Special Educational Needs Coordinators

• Follow individual support plans and school policies

• Help maintain a safe, inclusive learning environment

Requirements

• Previous experience supporting children or young people with additional needs

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills

• Patient, adaptable and supportive approach

• Relevant qualifications or experience

• Commitment to safeguarding and child welfare

• Flexibility to work across different schools and locations in Yorkshire

Compliance Requirements

• Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service check, including relevant barred-list checks where required

• Disclosure and Barring Service Update Service registration preferred

• Three contactable professional references covering the last five years

• Right to Work in the United Kingdom

• Evidence of relevant qualifications and training

• Full employment history as required for safeguarding checks

• Completion of all required compliance checks before starting an assignment
