Job Description

The Head of Additive Manufacturing & Model Finish is responsible for the overall management, performance, and continuous development of the Additive Manufacturing and Model Finishing departments. The role ensures the delivery of high-quality products in a cost-effective and timely manner through efficient utilization of personnel, equipment, and materials while driving operational excellence and continuous improvement.

• Lead and develop teams within Additive Manufacturing and Model Finishing.
• Manage workforce planning, including staffing, shift scheduling, vacation planning, and competency development.
• Conduct performance reviews and support employee growth and development.
• Foster effective communication across departments and management levels.

• Ensure effective planning of production processes, equipment, and workforce resources according to customer requirements and available capacity.
• Drive execution of daily and monthly production plans and initiate corrective actions when necessary.
• Ensure compliance with production standards, quality requirements, and operational procedures.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance productivity, quality, and efficiency.

• Monitor and analyze operational KPIs, including cost, quality, lead time, scrap, waste, energy consumption, and OEE.
• Develop and implement improvement actions to optimize manufacturing performance.
• Support the implementation and further development of manufacturing standards and best practices

• Ensure availability, reliability, and performance of manufacturing equipment.
• Coordinate preventive maintenance and repair activities.
• Ensure material availability and effective management of production resources.

• Ensure compliance with quality standards, company policies, and ESH requirements.
• Promote a strong safety culture through training, communication, and leadership by example.
• Initiate preventive measures and corrective actions to mitigate safety and environmental risks.

• Prepare, monitor, and manage departmental budgets and forecasts.
• Ensure accurate and timely reporting of financial and operational data.
• Support cost optimization initiatives while maintaining operational performance.

Qualifications

Technical studies (mechanical engineering, production engineering, materials technology or comparable) or technical training with corresponding further training. Alternatively, several years of relevant professional experience in a comparable management position.

Extensive knowledge of additive manufacturing (SLM, 3D printing) and model finishing.

Experience in mold, pattern and tool making.

Very good knowledge of technical drawings and standards.

Knowledge of quality management and manufacturing processes.

Experience in the participation of projects.

Experience in managing employees.

Experience in organizing production areas.

Ability to motivate, develop and manage teams.

Experience in working with international teams on production topics and understanding of foreign cultures.

Proficiency in Czech and either English or German is a mandatory.
