Business Development Manager – Data Centre Solutions | £40,000-£60,000 + commission | Remote with UK & European Travel

The Opportunity
An established and growing data centre solutions provider is looking for a commercially driven Business Development Manager to generate new end-user opportunities across the UK and Europe.

The company designs, manufactures and installs specialist infrastructure for hyperscale and colocation environments, including hot and cold aisle containment, security caging and data centre cabinet solutions.

This is a genuine new-business position rather than a traditional account management role. You will be expected to identify opportunities, open doors and develop relationships with data centre operators, end users, consultants and delivery partners.

For the right person, the position offers strong earning potential and a clear long-term route towards a Sales Director role.

Key Responsibilities

• Identify and secure new business opportunities across the data centre sector.
• Develop relationships with hyperscale operators, colocation providers and other end-user customers.
• Build and maintain a healthy pipeline of qualified opportunities.
• Arrange and attend client meetings throughout the UK and Europe.
• Understand customer requirements and develop suitable technical and commercial solutions.
• Work closely with internal design, manufacturing and installation teams.
• Prepare proposals, quotations and presentations for prospective customers.
• Manage opportunities throughout the complete sales process, from initial contact through to contract award.
• Attend industry events, exhibitions and networking opportunities.
• Monitor market activity, upcoming projects and competitor developments.
• Maintain accurate sales forecasts and report on pipeline activity.

Skills and Experience

• Previous sales or business development experience within data centres, critical infrastructure or a related technical market.
• A demonstrable track record of generating new business rather than solely managing existing accounts.
• Experience selling to end users, operators, main contractors, consultants or delivery partners.
• Knowledge of data centre cabinets, aisle containment, security caging, white-space infrastructure, cooling or associated products would be advantageous.
• Confident prospecting and developing relationships with senior decision-makers.
• Commercially aware, self-motivated and comfortable working to sales targets.
• Willingness to travel throughout the UK and Europe when required.
• Strong communication, negotiation and presentation skills.
