KS2 Teaching Assistant

Zest Education is currently recruiting for a dedicated and enthusiastic KS2 Teaching Assistant to join a friendly and supportive primary school in Burton upon Trent.

This is a full-time opportunity supporting pupils across Key Stage 2, making it an excellent role for a Teaching Assistant who is passionate about helping children succeed and enjoys working within a busy and rewarding primary school environment.

About the Role

As a KS2 Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with teachers to support learning across a range of Key Stage 2 classes. You will provide classroom support, work with small groups, and offer targeted intervention where required to help pupils make strong academic progress.

Furthermore, you will play a key role in encouraging pupils’ confidence, independence, and engagement in learning. The successful candidate will be able to build positive relationships with children and contribute to creating an inclusive and supportive classroom environment.

This varied position offers the opportunity to work with pupils of different abilities and needs while gaining valuable experience within a welcoming school community.

Key Responsibilities

• Support teaching and learning across Key Stage 2.
• Work with individuals and small groups to reinforce learning objectives.
• Support pupils with literacy, numeracy, and curriculum-based activities.
• Help children remain focused, engaged, and motivated during lessons.
• Assist with the delivery of interventions when required.
• Promote positive behaviour and classroom routines.
• Prepare learning resources and support classroom organisation.
• Work collaboratively with teachers and support staff to maximise pupil progress.

• Have experience working with primary-aged children.
• Be confident supporting pupils within Key Stage 2.
• Demonstrate excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

• Be committed to helping every child achieve their full potential.
• Hold a relevant Teaching Assistant qualification (desirable but not essential).
