About the role

As a Teaching Assistant at Heron Hall Academy, you will play a key role in supporting our pupils to achieve their potential, both academically and personally. Working closely with teachers, the SENCO and our wider Inclusion and Pastoral teams, you will provide tailored support to pupils across a diverse range of abilities and learning needs.

You will work with individuals and small groups, support classroom learning, deliver targeted interventions and help pupils develop their literacy, numeracy, independence and confidence. You will also play an important role in promoting positive behaviour, emotional wellbeing and inclusion, helping every pupil feel supported and ready to learn.

What we are looking for

We are looking for a caring, enthusiastic and committed Teaching Assistant who is passionate about helping young people learn, grow and achieve their potential.

You will have experience of working with secondary-aged pupils and be confident supporting individuals and small groups across a range of learning needs. You should have a good understanding of the secondary curriculum, positive behaviour management and the importance of supporting pupils’ social, emotional and wellbeing needs.

We are looking for someone who can build positive relationships, communicate effectively and remain calm and solution-focused when faced with challenges. You will be organised, reliable and proactive, with the ability to work collaboratively with teachers and the wider academy team.

Most importantly, you will be someone who believes in inclusion, values diversity and is committed to creating a safe, supportive and inspiring environment where every pupil has the opportunity to succeed.
