Hillingdon, Greater London ABS Talent Ltd Mechanical Inspector – Precision Machining (Hayes) Location: Hayes, Middlesex (West London) Job type: Permanent, full-time Salary: £40,000 Hours: 39 hours per week (days), with overtime available midweek and Saturday mornings The opportunity ABS Talent is recruiting a Mechanical Inspector on behalf of a growing sub-contract precision engineering company in Hayes, West London. Working from a modern, well-equipped inspection department, you'll verify precision-machined components supplied into high-value sectors including aerospace, defence, motorsport, medical and oil & gas. Our client operates from a modern 20,000 sq ft facility and has invested heavily in machinery, technology and people — this is a great opportunity to join a business on a genuine growth trajectory (ISO 9001 accredited, working towards AS9100). The role * Verifying precision-toleranced machined components to quality standards * CMM inspection — both manual and CNC (Aberlink machines/software an advantage; training available) * Using calibrated measuring equipment — micrometers, verniers, shadowgraph and similar * Producing accurate FAIR reports, including to AS9102 (aerospace standard) * Interpreting engineering drawings with a good understanding of GD&T * Working closely with the quality team in a fast-moving production environment About you * Experience in a similar inspection role, ideally in aerospace component manufacturing * Familiarity with AS9100 standards * Confident with calibrated measuring equipment and CMM inspection techniques * Aberlink experience an advantage (training provided if needed) * Good understanding of GD&T * Experience producing FAIR reports (AS9102 an advantage) * Basic PC skills (Word/Excel) * A strong, flexible team player with good communication, problem-solving and attention to detail What's on offer * Permanent role with a growing, well-invested precision engineering business * £40,000 Salary * 39-hour week (days), with overtime available midweek and Saturday mornings * A modern, well-equipped inspection department and genuine growth opportunity Interested?
