Teaching Assistant

Location: Quarry Bank

A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a supportive Teaching Assistant to start immediately. This Teaching Assistant position will involve working with children and young people aged 4 to 19 who have severe and profound learning difficulties, Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC), complex communication needs, and a range of additional physical, sensory, and medical needs. Many pupils require highly personalised support to access learning, develop communication skills, build independence, and engage in everyday activities.

The Role

As a Teaching Assistant, you will:

• Support pupils with severe learning difficulties, profound and multiple learning difficulties, autism, and complex needs.
• Help implement individual Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs) and personalised learning programmes.
• Adapt learning activities and resources to meet a wide range of abilities and developmental needs.
• Support pupils with communication using visual strategies, communication aids, and specialist approaches.
• Assist with personal care, mobility, feeding, and medical needs where required.
• Encourage independence, social interaction, emotional wellbeing, and engagement in learning.
• Work closely with teachers, therapists, healthcare professionals, and families to provide consistent and effective support.

What You’ll Need

• Previous experience supporting children or young people with SEND, autism, severe learning difficulties, or complex needs.
