Registered Children’s Home Manager

Location: Northampton
Salary: Up to £54,000 (negotiable for the right person) + performance bonuses
Hours: Full-time, Monday to Friday, 9:00am–5:00pm (with 1 day per week from home)

About the Role

Joneshouse Recruitment is seeking a compassionate and experienced Registered Manager to lead a therapeutic residential children’s home in Northampton, supporting children aged 6–12 with Emotional and Behavioural Difficulties (EBD).

Key Responsibilities

• Take full operational responsibility for the day-to-day management of the home.

• Lead, motivate, and develop the care team to deliver outstanding therapeutic care.

• Ensure compliance with Ofsted regulations and relevant legislation.

• Champion best practice in safeguarding and trauma-informed care.

• Oversee care planning, risk assessments, and individualised support strategies.

• Foster strong working relationships with families, local authorities, and partner professionals.

• Maintain a safe, emotionally supportive, and development-focused home environment.

• Manage budgets, staffing levels, and resource allocation effectively.

Requirements

• Level 5 Diploma in Leadership & Management for Residential Childcare (or working towards).

• Substantial experience in residential childcare.

• Previous experience as a Registered Manager preferred – strong Deputies ready to step up are also encouraged to apply.

• Excellent knowledge of Ofsted frameworks and children’s home regulations.

• Passion for therapeutic, trauma-informed practice.

• Full UK driving licence (essential).

• Must be aged 21+ (in line with regulations).

• Must have the right to work in the UK.
