About the role

PLEASE DO NOT APPLY USING THE DERBYSHIRE COUNTY COUNCIL WEBSITE, PLEASE SEE DETAILS BELOW

Walter Evans CE Primary and Nursery School is looking to appoint a friendly, organised and proactive School Business Assistant to join our supportive office team.

The school office is at the heart of our school community - it is often the first point of contact for our pupils, parents/carers, visitors and staff, and plays a vital role in ensuring our school runs smoothly every day.

This is an exciting opportunity for someone who enjoys variety and takes pride in supporting the smooth day-to-day running of a busy primary school. Working closely with the School Business Manager, you will be involved in areas such as pupil attendance administration, finance processes and supporting the effective operation of the school office. Alongside the day-to-day responsibilities, you will also have opportunities to contribute ideas and help improve the systems and processes that support the school.

We are looking for someone who:

  • Enjoys working in a busy environment where no two days are the same;
  • Has excellent organisational and communication skills;
  • Is confident working with data and administrative systems;
  • Has a keen eye for detail and takes pride in producing accurate work;
  • Is able to build positive relationships with children, families, colleagues and visitors.

If you are proactive, approachable and committed to making a positive difference to the daily life of our school community, we would love to hear from you!

We’d be delighted to show you around and encourage anybody with a keen interest to come and see what our school has to offer. Please contact our school office on [phone removed] or [email removed] to arrange a visit.

Walter Evans CE Primary School is also a proud member of Derby Diocesan Academy Trust (www.ddat.org.uk) and enjoys a positive relationship with a team of professionals providing effective support in school improvement and operations. We aim to provide a safe and happy environment in which all children are encouraged to be creative. We want our children to be successful, to love learning and to move onto the next stage of their education with the skills, knowledge and understanding that will enable them to thrive.

DDAT is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. All appointments are subject to satisfactory references, online checks, completion of a probationary period, pre-employment and Disclosure Barring Service checks. The possession of a criminal record will not necessarily prevent an applicant from obtaining this post, as all cases are judged individually according to the nature of the role and information provided.

This post is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 and therefore applicants are required to declare any cautions, convictions, reprimands and final warnings that are not protected (i.e. that are not filtered out) as defined by the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 (Exceptions) Order 1975 (as amended in 2013 and 2020).

We will only accept applications made on DDAT application forms. Please note that we will not consider CVs as part of the shortlisting.

To apply please submit your completed application form and monitoring form to [email removed] by the closing date.
