R&D Engineer
Location - Portsmouth
Salary - c£40.00 an hour
3-6 month contract
Our client is looking for a motivated Research & Development Engineer to join their product development team. This is an excellent opportunity for an engineer with some industry experience who is looking to develop their skills within a supportive and innovative environment. You will be involved in the design, testing and development of new products while supporting improvements to existing product lines and gaining exposure to the full product development lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in the design and development of new products and product improvements.
- Create and update engineering drawings and technical documentation.
- Support prototype builds, testing and validation activities.
- Use 3D CAD software to develop and modify product designs.
- Assist with selecting materials and manufacturing processes for new products.
- Help investigate technical issues and contribute to problem-solving activities.
- Support the transfer of products into manufacturing.
About You
- Degree qualified in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline
- Around 1-3 years of engineering, product development or R&D experience.
- Basic understanding of 3D CAD software.
- Knowledge of manufacturing processes would be beneficial.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Enthusiastic attitude and willingness to learn.
- Able to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
