The Opportunity

We are currently seeking a Speciality Doctor (Staff Grade) in General Psychiatry to support an Adult Inpatient Mental Health Service in East of England.

This opportunity offers a locum contract within an established inpatient psychiatry service. The role is well suited to experienced Psychiatry doctors who are confident managing adult mental health patients within an inpatient setting while working collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team.

You will play a key role in delivering high-quality psychiatric care, supporting ward-based clinical activity, and contributing to the safe and effective management of adult inpatients.

What You'll Be Doing

• Deliver high-quality psychiatric assessment, diagnosis, and treatment for adult inpatients.
• Support day-to-day ward activity, contributing to safe and effective service delivery.
• Participate in ward rounds, clinical reviews, and multidisciplinary team meetings.
• Develop and review patient care plans in line with best practice and local protocols.
• Work collaboratively with consultants, nurses, psychologists, and allied healthcare professionals.
• Maintain accurate, timely, and comprehensive clinical documentation.
• Identify, manage, and escalate clinical concerns appropriately.
• Contribute to maintaining a safe, therapeutic, and patient-centred inpatient environment.

What We're Looking For

• Active GMC registration and licence to practise.
• Relevant recent UK Psychiatry experience, ideally within Adult Mental Health services.
• Experience working within inpatient mental health settings.
• Ability to work independently and as part of an established multidisciplinary team.
• Strong clinical judgement, communication skills, and professionalism.
• Valid Right to Work in the UK (please note we do not offer visa sponsorship).
• Full UK driving licence desirable.
