About the role

We are seeking an enthusiastic, organised and proactive Senior Science Technician to join our successful Science department. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced technician to play a key role in supporting the delivery of outstanding science education across Key Stages 3, 4 and 5.

Working closely with teaching staff and the wider technician team, you will help ensure that practical lessons are prepared to the highest standard, equipment and resources are maintained safely and efficiently, and students benefit from high-quality practical learning experiences. You will also support the leadership and development of other technicians within the department.

This position is contracted on a 25 hours per week Term Time Only basis. This means you will mainly work when the school is open to pupils and will not need to work during the school holidays unless the contract requires you to do so.

Job Purpose 

  • To provide an efficient and effective technician support service to the school’s science  department. 

Key Skills & Experience

  • Sound educational background including GCSE’s in Maths and English (A*-C) or equivalent and a minimum of 1 A-Level (A*-C) in science.
  •  Knowledge of Biology, Chemistry and Physics.
  • Prior experience in a similar role.
