Science Teacher | DN31 | Immediate Start

A secondary school in DN31 is looking for a Science Teacher to support students across the secondary curriculum. You will be responsible for delivering lessons, assessing progress and creating a structured learning environment across KS3 and KS4. The position is available for an immediate start following completion of the required checks. 

The school is seeking a teacher with a good understanding of Science and the ability to deliver lessons to students with a range of abilities. Both experienced Science Teachers and ECTs are encouraged to apply.

What We’re Looking For:
• Qualified Teacher Status or equivalent
• Experience teaching in a secondary setting (ECT placements are welcomed)
• Knowledge of the KS3 and KS4 curriculum in Biology, Chemistry and Physics
• Effective behaviour management skills
• The ability to adapt teaching where required
• A professional approach to working with colleagues

Key Responsibilities of the Role:
• Teach one of the three sciences as a specialist across KS3 and KS4 with confidence
• Include practical activities where appropriate with support of technicians and the department
• Monitor student attainment and progress and provide clear feedback on outcomes
• Support students who need additional guidance or challenge
• Maintain behaviour and classroom routines
• Contribute to the wider Science department
