Formby, Liverpool, UK Fintelligent Search Senior leadership remit | Ownership across the full lending lifecycle | Hybrid working | Direct influence on credit strategy and operations This Head of Credit role offers the opportunity to lead both credit and lending operations within a specialist bridging and development lender. You will have genuine ownership of credit standards, portfolio performance and the operational capability supporting the lending lifecycle. As Head of Credit, you will have the autonomy to shape policy, improve processes and build a scalable credit function. The role combines senior credit leadership with operational influence across underwriting, loan management and portfolio risk. Package & Benefits • Salary of £95,000–£100,000 per annum. • Hybrid working. • Private medical cover and 25 days’ annual leave. About the Company You will join a specialist bridging and development lender operating across the North West. The business is focused on maintaining strong credit standards while developing the systems, processes and operational capability required to support future growth. Key Responsibilities • Lead the assessment, structuring and approval of lending within credit policy, delegated authorities and agreed risk appetite. • Oversee the live loan portfolio, including monitoring, exits, arrears, extensions and stressed cases, ensuring emerging risks are identified early. • Own the lending journey from application through completion, servicing and redemption, improving accountability and handovers across Credit, Sales and Loan Management. • Lead and develop Credit and Loan Management teams while improving controls, workflows, management information and operational scalability. About You • Significant senior credit experience within bridging, development finance or a closely related lending environment. • Experience leading credit decision-making, underwriting standards and portfolio risk management. • Strong operational experience across the lending lifecycle, including credit and loan management functions.
