Quality Manager

Working with a leading privately-owned Transmission Developer in New York to hire a Quality Manager. Summary: Our client is seeking a highly capable Quality Manager to cover high-voltage utility equipment, capable of challenging manufacturers' quality and testing plans, as well as following equipment through the complete quality lifecycle (specification/manufacturing → factory testing/FAT → engineering sign-off → shipment → site installation → site acceptance/retesting) They need to ensure equipment arrives and is installed correctly and compare site testing against accepted factory results Key equipment includes large power transformers, phase-angle regulators, switchgear and breakers; 345kV equipment & transformers that step down from 345 to 138kV. This is a newly created position - ideally you are capable of taking ownership and establishing the approach to this newly formed quality function. As a growing transmission developer operating at the critical intersection of the electric grid and its customers, this company is working on transformative projects to modernize and enhance New York's energy infrastructure. Breadth is important. The client cannot employ separate specialists for every equipment category, so this person must have exposure across multiple types of transmission/utility equipment rather than being specialized in one component. Ideal Background: High Voltage / Utility / Transmission level experience is essential. Must be capable of covering both eqiupment engineering (specifications, test protocols, quality plans, factory testing) and field engineering (installation oversight, site testing, etc.). Equipment expertise a priority; broader corprate/process quality-management experience is an additional benefit. Ability to work autonomously
