Site Engineer

Summary:
We are looking for a Site Engineer/Surveyor to join a civils project based at RAF Lakenheath in Suffolk. This 12-week contract role will involve setting out, surveying, and taking elevations for new asphalt surfacing, drainage, paving, and other civils-related works. The successful candidate will have relevant civils experience and must hold a recent enhanced DBS certificate, as security clearance is required for site access. The project is scheduled to start on 5th October. While not essential, having SMSTS and First Aid certifications would be advantageous.
Skills:
- Civil engineering site experience
- Setting out and surveying techniques
- Elevation measurement and interpretation
- Knowledge of asphalt surfacing and drainage works
- Understanding of paving and general civils operations
- Ability to work to project deadlines
- Strong attention to detail
- Good communication and teamwork skills
- Recent enhanced DBS certificate (mandatory)
- Health and safety awareness
Software/Tools:
- Surveying instruments (e.g. total station, GPS)
- AutoCAD or similar CAD software (desirable)
Certifications & Standards:
- Enhanced DBS certificate (mandatory)
- SMSTS (desirable)
- First Aid (desirable)
