Main Duties Include:
- Arrive on time and prepare the kitchen and dining areas for service.
- Follow all food safety, hygiene and health and safety procedures.
- Assist with the preparation of food, including basic food preparation such as washing, peeling, chopping and portioning ingredients.
- Assist the Catering Manager/Chef with the preparation and presentation of meals.
- Ensure food is prepared, stored and handled safely and hygienically.
- Set up serving areas, counters, utensils, plates, cutlery and other equipment ready for lunchtime service.
- Clear tables and return equipment and crockery to the kitchen as required.
- Wash dishes, utensils, trays and catering equipment using the appropriate cleaning procedures.
- Clean and sanitise work surfaces, preparation areas and serving counters.
- Clean catering equipment in accordance with manufacturer and Trust procedures.
- Sweep and mop kitchen and relevant dining areas.
The successful candidate may be required to provide catering cover at other schools within the Trust. This may include supporting different catering teams when staff are absent or additional cover is required.
