About the role
We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Advanced Teaching Assistant to join our supportive team, working predominantly within our Early Years provision across Nursery and Reception. This is a rewarding opportunity to play a key role in supporting our youngest learners as they take their first steps in education, helping to create a nurturing, stimulating and inclusive environment where every child can thrive.
Working closely with teachers and other professionals, you will support children's learning, development and wellbeing through high-quality interactions, targeted interventions and engaging play-based experiences. The successful candidate will share our commitment to helping children become confident, curious and resilient learners, while embodying our school values. This role would suit an experienced practitioner with a passion for Early Years education and a desire to make a lasting difference to children's lives during this crucial stage of their development.
Key Duties
- Support engaging lessons and activities alongside the class teacher
- Deliver support to individuals and small groups under the guidance of the class teacher to maximise progress
- Monitor pupil development and provide clear, timely feedback
- Help prepare an organised, inclusive and stimulating classroom environment
- Supervise pupils and promote positive behaviour and wellbeing
- Work collaboratively as part of a supportive school team
- Take part in training and contribute to a culture of continuous improvement
You will have:
- Relevant NVQ Level 3 or equivalent
- Minimum English and maths skills at level 2/ GCSE Pass
- Appropriate experience working with children in an education setting
- Good understanding of child/ young people’s development and learning processes
- Understanding of guidance and requirements around safeguarding children and young people
- Understanding of individual children and young people’s needs
- An understanding that children/Young people have differing needs and knowledge of inclusive practice
- Ability to work successfully in a team
