Tywardreath School is seeking an enthusiastic and highly motivated school office receptionist and administrator to join our welcoming and supportive team. This is a fantastic opportunity to play a central role in the life of our school, providing high-quality administrative support while being the first point of contact for pupils, parents, staff and visitors. This role is for 9 hours per week on a Wednesday and Thursday morning 8.30am – 1pm.
About the RoleAs a school office Receptionist and Administrator, you will help ensure the smooth and efficient running of the school office. You will provide a professional and welcoming reception service, manage communications, maintain accurate records and support a wide range of administrative functions across the school. You will work closely with school leaders, staff and families, helping to create a positive experience for everyone who engages with our school community.
Key responsibilities will include:Welcoming visitors and answering telephone and email enquiries.Providing confidential administrative support to the school.Maintaining pupil and school records using Arbor and other systems.Supporting finance administration and processing school purchases.Assisting with school communications, website updates and social media content.Supporting the organisation of school events, meetings and trips.Managing parental enquiries and providing excellent customer service.Ensuring safeguarding and visitor procedures are followed at all times.
About YouWe are looking for someone who:Has experience working in an administrative or office environment.Possesses excellent communication and customer service skills.Is highly organised with strong attention to detail.Can manage competing priorities and work to deadlines.Is confident using Microsoft Office 365 applications and other IT systems.Understands the importance of confidentiality and professionalism.Works well both independently and as part of a team.Demonstrates a commitment to safeguarding, inclusion and equality.
Experience of working within a school environment and knowledge of Arbor would be advantageous but are not essential.
