About the role

Two Gates Primary School is seeking to appoint a reliable, practical and hardworking Site Assistant to join our friendly and supportive team.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone who takes pride in maintaining a safe, welcoming and well-presented school environment and who enjoys a varied, hands-on role.

About the role

Working 20 hours per week, 4 hours per day, the Site Assitant candidate will support the day-to-day running and maintenance of the school site, helping to ensure that the premises, grounds and facilities are safe, secure and well maintained.

Duties will include:

  1. Carrying out general maintenance and repairs around the school site
  2. Supporting the cleaning, upkeep and presentation of the school buildings and grounds
  3. Undertaking routine checks and reporting any issues or defects
  4. Setting up and moving furniture and equipment as required
  5. Supporting the opening and closing of the school site and ensuring the premises are secure
  6. Assisting with deliveries and contractors when required
  7. Supporting health and safety procedures and maintaining a safe environment for pupils, staff and visitors
  8. Responding positively to the day-to-day needs of the school and carrying out other reasonable duties as required

About you

  4. Is able to work independently and use their initiative
  5. Has good organisational skills and a flexible approach
  6. Is able to communicate effectively with staff, pupils, visitors and contractors
  7. Understands the importance of health and safety within a school environment
  8. Is approachable, helpful and committed to supporting the wider school community

Previous experience of working in a school or similar environment would be desirable, although a positive attitude, practical skills and a willingness to learn are equally important.
