About the role
Randstad C&P are seeking a reliable, multi-skilled Maintenance Electrician to join our clients established team in Edinburgh. Working across two high-tech commercial facilities (including clean rooms and modern offices), you will play a key role in delivering planned preventive maintenance, reactive repairs, and minor installation works.
You will join a tight-knit, highly experienced team with a strong culture of support and knowledge sharing. This is an ideal position for a qualified electrician looking to develop their commercial FM and industrial maintenance skill set while benefiting from clear long-term career progression routes.
Key Responsibilities
- Electrical Maintenance & Installs: Execute routine electrical testing, fault finding, small power installations, and general repairs in accordance with current wiring regulations.
- Emergency Lighting: Carry out routine emergency lighting checks (including scheduled weekend testing one week per month).
- Fabric & Building Services: Perform basic mechanical, HVAC, and building fabric checks within your skill set to support overall facility operations.
- Reactive & PPM Tasks: Balance planned maintenance schedules with rapid response to urgent site repairs to ensure minimal disruption to operations.
- Compliance: Maintain accurate maintenance logs and strictly adhere to health, safety, and site security protocols.
The Package
- Base Salary: £39,500 per annum
- Permanent and full-time role

This role operates on a 4-week rotating pattern:
- Weeks 1 to 3
- Monday to Thursday: 07:30 - 15:30
- Friday: 07:00 - 12:30
- Week 4
- Monday to Friday: 10:30 - 19:00
- Weekend Work: One week per month
Candidate Requirements
- SVQ Level 3 (or equivalent NVQ/Apprenticeship) in Electrical Installation / Maintenance.
- 18th Edition BS7671 Wiring Regulations.
- 2 to 5 years of commercial or industrial electrical maintenance experience.
- Strong team player with a practical, multi-skilled approach to general facilities maintenance.
- Ability to undergo standard Security Clearance.
