Teaching Assistant – Penistone

Hours: Monday to Friday, school hours

We are currently recruiting for an experienced Teaching Assistant to join a school in Penistone on a full-time basis, with an ASAP start.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Teaching Assistant, EYFS Teaching Assistant, SEN Teaching Assistant or Learning Support Assistant who has a genuine passion for supporting children and helping them achieve their full potential.

The successful candidate will have strong EYFS experience and previous experience supporting children or adults with SEND.

The RoleAs a Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with the class teacher and wider school team to support children’s learning, development and wellbeing.

You may be required to provide one-to-one and small-group support, assist with classroom activities, promote positive behaviour and help create a safe, inclusive and nurturing learning environment.

Requirements
To be considered for this Teaching Assistant job in Penistone, you will need:

• Previous experience working within EYFS is essential
• Previous experience supporting children or adults with SEND
• An Enhanced DBS for the Child Workforce on the Update Service, or willingness to apply for a new Enhanced DBS
• Safeguarding Level 1 minimum, or willingness to complete a Safeguarding course
• A genuine passion for supporting children in their early years
• Strong communication and teamwork skills
• A reliable, professional and committed approach
• The ability to work effectively as part of a school team
• Patience and empathy, with a positive approach to supporting children with additional needs
