SEND teacher

Desian Education is recruiting an experienced and compassionate SEND Teacher to work within a specialist resource base attached to a supportive mainstream primary school. This long-term opportunity is ideal for a dedicated teacher with a passion for supporting children with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and complex learning difficulties.

This rewarding role involves teaching and supporting a small group of pupils within a nurturing resource base environment, helping them access a personalised curriculum while promoting independence, communication skills, and social development.

Your new role

• Full-time, long-term position
• Teaching within a specialist SEND resource base in a mainstream primary school
• Supporting pupils with ASD and complex learning difficulties
• Planning and delivering engaging, differentiated lessons tailored to individual needs
• Working closely with teaching assistants, SENDCOs, therapists, and families
• Creating a safe, inclusive, and stimulating learning environment
• Monitoring progress and contributing to EHCP reviews and target setting

What you’ll need

• Holds Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
• Has experience working with pupils with ASD and additional learning needs
• Demonstrates a patient, nurturing, and child-centred approach
• Understands personalised learning and adaptive teaching strategies
• Has strong behaviour management and communication skills
• Can work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team
