ROLE DETAILS
Are you good at managing, supporting, motivating and supervising classes during the absence of the teacher? Yes, then we have the right job for you!
The role of Cover Supervisor covers for short and long-term absences of a teacher. These might be known in advance (for example where a teacher has a medical appointment or is attending professional development) or unexpected (for example absence due to illness).
Duties will vary and candidates will be committed to the Safeguarding and Welfare of our students. The person appointed would work under the guidance of teaching staff and support across all classes supported by the Cover Manager/ Senior Leadership Team. Previous experience of a busy school, directly supervising work set by the teacher and supporting the needs of the students is essential. The person must be able to maintain full confidentiality. The post will be subject to a satisfactory Enhanced DBS Disclosure.

Knowledge of current curriculum developments in the subject and their implications;
Good knowledge and understanding of current educational thinking;
Good understanding of how children learn and how to raise standards of;
Ability to build and sustain professional standards and relationships with students;
Committed to Safeguarding and the Wellbeing of our school community;
A passion for education and making a difference;
Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines;
Energy. enthusiasm, good sense of humour;
Emotional maturity and resilience in dealing with challenging behaviours;
Able to communicate effectively with students, staff and other stakeholders.
