About the role

Gent Commissioning Engineer
Location: M6 Corridor — Birmingham to Manchester
Contract Length: 2 weeks, with a possible extension
Start Date: Monday 21 September
Rate: £320–£340 per day

The Role
We are seeking an experienced Gent Commissioning Engineer to support fire alarm commissioning works across the Midlands and along the M6 Corridor, including locations between Birmingham and Manchester.
The successful engineer will be responsible for commissioning, servicing and fault-finding on Gent fire alarm systems. This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled fire alarm professional seeking a short-term contract with the potential for an extension.

Key Responsibilities
•    Commission Gent fire alarm systems across commercial and industrial sites.
•    Carry out fault-finding, testing and diagnostic work.
•    Service and maintain Gent fire alarm systems.
•    Identify and rectify system faults efficiently.
•    Complete commissioning documentation and site reports.
•    Liaise with site teams, project managers and other contractors.
•    Travel between sites along the Birmingham–Manchester M6 Corridor.
•    Ensure all works are completed in accordance with relevant safety and quality standards.

Essential Requirements
•    Proven experience commissioning Gent fire alarm systems.
•    Strong fault-finding and diagnostic capability.
•    Previous experience servicing and maintaining fire alarm systems.
•    Ability to work independently and manage site-based tasks.
•    Experience working across commercial or industrial environments.
•    ECS card.
•    Willingness to undergo a DBS check.
•    Based in or within easy travelling distance of the Midlands.
•    Full UK driving licence and access to suitable transport.

Equipment Required
•    Full set of hand tools.
•    Laptop suitable for commissioning and diagnostic works.
•    Full PPE.

Software and commissioning laptop support can be provided where required.
