About the role
Revit / CAD Technician
Salary – £39k – £43k DOE
Hybrid
If you know your way around Revit, AutoCAD and BIM, and enjoy turning technical ideas into accurate, intelligent drawings and models, this could be a really interesting one.
We’re supporting a specialist security systems integrator delivering complex solutions across high-security environments, transport, infrastructure and public spaces.
They’re looking for an experienced Revit / CAD Technician to join their technical design team.
This is a design-focused role where you’ll work alongside Security Solutions Architects, Technical Designers and project teams, taking information from plans, specifications and client requirements and turning it into detailed 2D drawings, 3D models and BIM documentation.
What you’ll be doing
You’ll be involved in:
Producing technical layouts, schematics and plans for physical and electronic security systems
Creating and modifying 2D AutoCAD drawings and 3D Revit models
Using Revit MEP to model system architecture
Producing plans, elevations, technical details and building layouts
Creating and maintaining BIM models and BIM object libraries
Updating drawings from red-line information through to as-installed / as-built status
Reviewing drawings with engineers, designers, subcontractors and clients
Making amendments and design changes throughout the project lifecycle
Producing CCTV field-of-view visualisations
Supporting the transition of projects from technical design through to delivery
What we’re looking for
The key thing for this role is strong technical design capability.
You’ll ideally have:
Strong working knowledge of AutoCAD
Strong working knowledge of Revit
Experience working with BIM Level 2
Experience producing technical engineering or building-services drawings
A sound understanding of engineering design principles
Confidence interpreting plans, specifications and technical information
Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office, Visio and Adobe Acrobat
Strong communication skills and the confidence to work with engineers, designers and project teams
Experience within electronic security, CCTV, access control, electrical systems, MEP, building services or infrastructure would be particularly useful, although we’re also interested in strong Revit/CAD professionals who can learn the security side.
Relevant CAD, Revit, engineering or technical qualifications would be advantageous.
If your background is in CAD, Revit, BIM, MEP, electrical design, building services or security systems design, I’d love to hear from you.
You don’t necessarily need to have worked within security before. If you have the technical drawing and modelling experience, let’s have a conversation.
