We are delighted to be recruiting for a Machine Minder/Maintenance Engineer to join a fast-growing food manufacturer.
Hours: Monday to Friday – Afternoon/Evening Shift
Shift Options: 3:00pm–12:00 midnight | 4:00pm–1:00am | 5:00pm–2:00am
Employment Type: Full-time, Permanent
The Role
We are looking for a Machine Minder / Maintenance Engineer to join a well-established and successful food manufacturing company.
This is a hands-on role working within a busy production environment, ensuring machinery and equipment are running safely, efficiently and reliably throughout the shift.
You will play an important role in keeping production running smoothly by carrying out routine checks, basic maintenance, adjustments and fault finding, as well as responding quickly to any machinery issues.
Key Responsibilities
- Monitor production machinery and equipment throughout the shift.
- Carry out routine machinery checks and adjustments.
- Identify and respond to mechanical and equipment faults.
- Carry out basic preventative and reactive maintenance.
- Assist with machinery changeovers and settings.
- Ensure machinery is operating safely and efficiently.
- Carry out cleaning and routine maintenance of equipment where required.
- Minimise machinery downtime and support the production team to maintain output.
- Report significant faults or maintenance requirements to the appropriate manager/engineer.
- Follow all company health & safety, food safety and hygiene procedures.
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance and machinery checks.
- Work closely with Production and Engineering teams.
- Ensure all work is carried out in accordance with company procedures and relevant legislation.
About You
We are looking for someone who is practical, reliable and mechanically minded, with an interest in machinery and engineering.
You may already have experience as a Machine Minder, Maintenance Assistant, Engineering Operative, Production Engineer or Maintenance Engineer, or you may have strong mechanical experience from another manufacturing environment.
The successful candidate will ideally have:
- Previous experience working with machinery in a Food manufacturing environment.
- Mechanical or engineering experience.
- Good fault-finding and problem-solving skills.
- The ability to carry out basic maintenance and machinery adjustments.
- A good understanding of Health & Safety.
- Experience within food manufacturing would be advantageous.
- The ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- A flexible and positive attitude.
- Excellent attention to detail.
- Good communication skills.
- A willingness to learn and develop their engineering skills.
Working Hours
The company offers Monday to Friday afternoon/evening shifts, with flexible start times:
- 3:00pm – 12:00 midnight
- 4:00pm – 1:00am
- 5:00pm – 2:00am
This role is ideal for someone who prefers working later in the day and wants a consistent Monday-to-Friday working pattern.
