PLEASE NOTE: We are recruiting one permanent Commissioning Manager and one fixed-term contract for 12 months. Both are full time positions. Your application will cover both vacancies and the highest scoring candidate will be offered the permanent position, with the next highest scoring candidate being offered the fixed-term contract position.

This role is a wonderful opportunity to join the commissioning team in Barking and Dagenham to support our older adults commissioning portfolio. In particular the current priorities of this post holder will focus on developing provision and commissioning in the areas of older adults commissioning, including services for Direct Payment, Carers & Reablement.

We are looking for candidates who are experienced in the Adults Social Care area, in particular in Commissioning, and who are dynamic, data-focused, problem solvers & strive in co-production.

The Commissioning Manager will support the planning, development and management of high-quality, outcome-focused services that meet the needs of residents and deliver value for money. The role will involve analysing need, managing contracts and working closely with a range of stakeholders to ensure commissioned services are effective, inclusive and sustainable. The successful candidate will have strong commissioning, project management and stakeholder engagement skills, with experience of working in a complex public sector or health and social care environment.

About you

Working closely with social workers, health partners, voluntary sector partners and residents you will be an excellent communicator, have strong project management skills and be committed to upholding quality and promoting innovation in service delivery. You will be interested in improving services to residents including models of delivery and continuous improvement. You will have good knowledge of commissioning and ideally have some experience of writing specifications and reports, contract management, carrying out evaluations, tendering and co-production. You will understand the landscape of social care and understand the role of commissioning within it. You will be passionate about improving outcomes for residents and work collaboratively with all stakeholders.
