About the Opportunity

We’re recruiting for a Stores Operative to join a growing engineering and manufacturing business based in Loudwater.

This is far more than a traditional warehouse role. The business is currently undergoing a major operational transformation programme and is looking for proactive individuals who want to contribute ideas, improve processes, and develop their careers within a supportive environment.

The role offers full training, structured development plans, coaching and mentoring, and genuine opportunities for progression across the business.

The Role

This is a varied, hands-on position where you’ll be cross-trained across all areas of the stores operation. You’ll play a key role in supporting production, inventory management, and customer deliveries while working closely with departments across the business.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Receiving and booking in deliveries

• Managing stock and inventory accuracy

• Conducting cycle counts and stock checks

• Picking and issuing materials to production

• Preparing and dispatching customer orders

• Processing stock transactions through the ERP system

• Maintaining accurate records and documentation

• Supporting continuous improvement initiatives

• Working closely with Procurement, Production, and other operational teams

The role offers a balanced mix of office-based and practical work, with approximately 50% of your time spent using systems and managing stock records, and 50% carrying out hands-on operational activities.

What We’re Looking For

We’re interested in people who take pride in their work and want to make a positive impact.

You’ll ideally have experience within a stores, warehouse, logistics, manufacturing, or inventory environment and be comfortable working with stock control systems.

More importantly, we’re looking for someone who is:

• Self-motivated and proactive

• Organised and detail-oriented

• Comfortable using computer systems and Excel

• Keen to learn and develop

• Able to work collaboratively across multiple teams

• Interested in improving processes and contributing ideas

• Someone who genuinely cares about doing a good job

Experience using ERP, MRP, or stock control systems would be advantageous, although full training will be provided.

A forklift licence is beneficial but not essential.

A full UK driing licence is strongly preferred.

• Salary: £28,000 - £29,500
