Job Title: Project Engineer
Location: Watford
Salary: Up to £60,000
Are you a Project Engineer based in Watford looking for your next opportunity? As a Project Engineer, you will be responsible for the end-to-end delivery of fire alarm projects, overseeing installation and commissioning activities across commercial, industrial, and residential sites. You will be joining an established company with a strong reputation for delivering high-quality fire and security solutions to its customers.
Responsibilities:
* Manage the full project lifecycle from initial planning through to commissioning and handover, ensuring projects are delivered on time and within budget.
* Oversee the installation and commissioning of fire alarm systems, ensuring all work meets relevant standards and specifications.
* Coordinate and manage subcontractors and on-site teams, monitoring performance and ensuring compliance with health and safety requirements.
* Liaise with clients, consultants, and stakeholders throughout the project, providing regular updates and resolving any technical issues as they arise.
* Maintain accurate project documentation including programmes, risk assessments, and commissioning records.
* Conduct site inspections and snagging to ensure all completed works meet the required quality standards prior to handover.
Experience and Certifications required:
* Minimum 3 years' experience in a project engineering or project management role within the fire alarm or fire and security industry.
* Proven experience with fire alarm systems, including installation and commissioning, with knowledge of relevant standards such as BS 5839.
* Demonstrated ability to manage subcontractors and coordinate multi-disciplinary teams on site.
* Full UK driving licence.
* FIA Certificate in Fire Detection and Alarm Systems (desirable).
* SMSTS or SSSTS health and safety qualification (desirable).
