About the Role
We are seeking an enthusiastic, creative Art, Design & Technology (ADT) Teacher to join our dedicated department on a maternity cover basis. This is an exciting opportunity for an inspiring teacher who is passionate about developing students’ creativity, practical skills and confidence.
The successful candidate will teach across Art, Design and Technology, delivering engaging and challenging lessons that encourage students to experiment, design, make and evaluate their work.

About the School
Burnt Mill is a caring and friendly school and our students tell us that when they come to school, they feel happy, safe and they enjoy their learning. This positive environment, where our students are supported and inspired to be the best that they can possibly be, enables every child to thrive. Indeed, many pupils enjoy school life so much that they often stay until 5.00 pm to continue their studies or to participate in extra-curricular activities.
BMAT is a thriving community of schools, committed to providing an outstanding education for every student attending one of our schools. We create environments where individuals matter, confidence flourishes, and every child can achieve exceptional outcomes. We currently oversee seven secondary academies and five primary academies, primarily located in Harlow, with additional sites in Newham and Stansted.
The Trust’s vision is clear - to work together to smash through the barriers that prevent children from becoming confident, high-achieving, and independent individuals.
What can BMAT offer you?
BMAT provides a range of benefits to support your personal and professional well-being:
Generous employer pension contribution through Teachers Pensions or Local Government Pension Scheme
Private healthcare benefits, including 24/7 Doctor Line Access
Home and electronic salary sacrifice scheme
Cycle to work
Discounted Gym membership through salary sacrifice
Lifestyle and discount savings
Workplace nursery fee salary sacrifice scheme via Yellownest
24/7 Employee Assistance Programme (EAP) for wellbeing support
We encourage early applications and reserve the right to close the advert if a suitable candidate is shortlisted and appointed prior to the closing date.
BMAT Education is committed to safeguarding children; successful candidates will be subject to an Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service check. In line with Keeping Children Safe in Education (KCSIE) guidance, we may also conduct an online search about any shortlisted candidates as part of our due diligence to identify any matters that might relate directly to our legal duty to meet safeguarding duties, in accordance with Keeping Children Safe in Education (KCSIE).
